    Bucharest Fashion Week: OCT 15-18

    Bucharest Fashion Week 2024, Romania’s most influential fashion event, occurs between October 15 and 18. The event transforms the centre of Bucharest into a vibrant catwalk with global echoes, bringing Romanian design together with the great fashion capitals.

    The event connects designers, buyers, publications, mass media, and academics to support fashion in Romania and the region. It brings together brands, local designers, and potential international buyers, promoting “Made in Romania” globally.

    Eight international magazines from five countries and over 40 buyers and showrooms have confirmed their participation, along with designers from Georgia, Ukraine and Italy and stylists, influencers, and photographers from four countries.

    Runaway Fashion Shows at Bucharest Fashion Week 2024

    The newest collections of Romanian or Eastern European designers will be able to be admired in live shows, which will take place both in historic buildings and unconventional spaces, building a unique fashion district in the centre of the capital.

    Royal Palace

    At the Royal Palace, in the Throne room, the shows Litkovska, Gudu, Keburia, Murmur, Carmen Secăreanu, Rhea Costa, Ami Amalia, Katea Gri and Elena Reva will take place. The special guest on the first day was Romeo Gigli, the house designer Alessandro dei Benedetti.

    House of the Free Press – Casa Presei Libere

    A spectacular show signed by Nissa will occur in the Marble Hall at the Casa Presei Libere.

    Nicodim Gallery

    The Manuri collection is at the S.E.N.A.T. Gallery, and Almaz’s creations are presented at the Nicodim Gallery.

    The Italian Embassy in Bucharest hosts the event’s star show, the collection of the famous international house Ermanno Scervino.

    These shows are dedicated to the event’s guests, but there will also be events dedicated to the general public, creating a carousel of unique experiences for Bucharest.

    In front of the Romanian Athenaeum, George Enescu Square will become the central point for fashion enthusiasts on October 16 and 17, offering live streaming on a gigantic screen of all the shows within Fashion Week. Visitors can enjoy interactive activations, lounges, and bar areas with the event’s partners: Adidas, Glo, Glow Healthy, Fashion Days, Banca Transilvania, NN, Pepsi, and Peroni.

    The Mercedes-Benz area will exhibit two automobiles alongside a gallery exploring the connection between cars and fashion. Mercedes-Benz is the title sponsor of this event.

    Fashion Exhibitions and Installations at the Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week 2024

    Fashion Space at Galateca: October 16 – 17, from 12:00 to 19:00

    A unique installation, Ressurected Wardrobe, will highlight the creativity of five Romanian brands—V:PM, Borbala, ARSENE, VOL by Bianca Taban, and Medeea—who will exhibit pieces from their collections and two upcycled outfits made together with Auchan. In the Fashion Space, the Ukrainian brand Kacharovska, famous for quality footwear and accessories, will also be present.

    Moldavian Corner at Artmark: October 15 – 18, from 12:00 to 19:00

    Moldavian Corner presents the distinct identity of Moldovan fashion through creative installations. Designers such as Constanzia Yurashko, Valentina Vidrașcu, Yulia Efros and Liudmila Storojuc bring refined interpretations of contemporary design, combining tradition with innovation and highlighting the avant-garde creativity of Moldovan fashion.

    Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave, curated by Vogue Italia, Gallery 2/3: October 16-29, from12.00 to 20.00

    Fashion Panorama is a travelling exhibition that explores contemporary Italian fashion through the vision of 10 unique brands. In a world where fashion is increasingly essential in defining identity, these brands combine tradition with innovation, redefining Italianness. The exhibition reveals each brand’s universe, offering insight into their evolution and how they tell the story of Italy today.

    Romanian Museum of Art – the Royal Living Room: October 16-17, from 11.00 to 18.00

    The installation “Talk with a Stranger” invites visitors to reflect on the changes in communication in the digital age, highlighting the decline of telephone conversations in favour of text messages. The project explores the connection between fashion and art, challenging viewers to rethink the role of clothes in defining identity.
