Indonesia Summer Festival Bucharest: September 12, 2026, Embassy of Indonesia

Autumn may have already arrived in Bucharest, but summer is making one last appearance. On Saturday, 12 September 2026, Indonesia Summer Festival will bring the warmth, colours and flavours of the Indonesian archipelago to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia.

Taking place from 16:00 to 20:00, the festival invites visitors to discover Indonesian culture through traditional dance, music, food, drinks, handicrafts and cultural experiences. Admission is free.

Visit Bucharest is the exclusive media partner of Indonesia Summer Festival Bucharest 2026.

Indonesia Sumer Fest: A Final Taste of Summer in Bucharest

September usually marks the beginning of autumn in the Romanian capital, but Indonesia Summer Festival promises a few more hours of summer atmosphere. Music, colourful costumes, traditional performances and the aromas of Indonesian food will transform the embassy into a meeting place for cultures and communities.

The event offers Bucharest residents, international visitors, and families an opportunity to explore Indonesia’s remarkable diversity without leaving the city.

    Discover Indonesian Culture in Bucharest

Indonesia is home to thousands of islands and hundreds of cultural traditions, each with its own music, dance, clothing, crafts and culinary identity. Indonesia Summer Festival introduces visitors to part of this extraordinary heritage through performances and interactive experiences.

The programme includes a traditional dance showcase, Indonesian music and angklung, a distinctive musical tradition based on bamboo instruments. Visitors can also explore Indonesian handicrafts and meet members of the Indonesian community in Romania.

Rather than presenting Indonesian heritage only as a formal showcase, the festival is designed as an open cultural gathering where guests can interact, taste, listen and learn.

Indonesian Food, Music and Traditional Dance

Food will be one of the central attractions of Indonesia Summer Festival. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover Indonesian dishes, drinks and culinary traditions in the welcoming setting of the embassy.

Traditional dance and special performances will introduce the audience to the rhythms, costumes and artistic expressions associated with different parts of the Indonesian archipelago. Angklung and Indonesian music will complete an afternoon dedicated to culture, community and the lingering spirit of summer.

Indonesia Summer Festival also carries an important message of solidarity. A portion of the funds raised during the event will be donated to support families affected by natural disasters in Indonesia.

Through this charitable component, the festival connects cultural discovery with direct support for communities facing difficult circumstances. Visitors can enjoy the performances, food and cultural activities while contributing to a meaningful cause.
