Spanish Film Festival in Bucharest: September 8-10

The Embassy of Spain in Bucharest and the Museum of the Municipality of Bucharest invite the public to the 3rd edition of the Spanish Film Festival in Bucharest, a series comprising three Spanish films, representative of Iberian cinema.

The three films have Romanian subtitles and can be watched between September 8 and 10, 2023, starting at 7:45 p.m., in the garden or the attic of the Filipescu-Cesianu House (Calea Victoriei, no. 151), depending on meteorological conditions.
The public has free access within the limit of available seats

    Program Spanish Film Festival 2023

Friday, September 8, 2023, 8 p.m., screening of the film “Beasts” (2022, Rodrigo Sorogoyen):

Saturday, September 9, 2023, 8 p.m., screening of “The Best Boss” (2021, Fernando León de Aranoa)

Sunday, September 10, 2023, 8 p.m., screening of the film “Parallel Mothers” (2021, Pedro Almadovar)

The festival also includes an outdoor exhibition dedicated to the famous artist Pablo Picasso, made up of a series of 14 photographed poses of the great artist, which will be able to be admired between September 8 and October 20, 2023, at Casa Filipescu-Cesianu (Calea Victoriei no. 151 ).

Through the photographs of Roberto Otero, Argentinian artist and photographer, who uniquely capture Picasso’s maturity and gaze in his Notre-Dame-de-Vie home, this exhibition invites the viewer to create and develop their own relationship with Picasso.

The event is being put on by the Spanish Embassy in Bucharest in association with the Bucharest City Museum.

Therefore, if you are a fan of Spanish cinema, you must watch these films in one of the most beautiful buildings in Bucharest and admire a museum with taste and refinement that will transport you to the glorious era of the capital.

You can find the museum near Piata Victoriei, at the intersection of Calea Victoriei and Sevastopol Street. The Filipescu-Cesianu House (1892) is the arrangement of an older building from 1846-1850. It is one of the few aristocratic residences of Bucharest from the Belle Époque, which remained faithful to the original project.
