Romanian-origin artist, Anca Seel Constantin, is presenting a new exhibition of her artworks in Bucharest, entitled ”Geography of Words”. The collection represents a journey of knowledge through the colours and shapes of the artist’s works of art in Bucharest.
After exhibiting at the Graphics Salon and the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, at Gallery 44 New York or the World Congress of Aesthetics in Tokyo, Anca Seel-Constantin proposes to the Bucharest public ”Geography of Words”, an exhibition in which “the artist tells her story with the sophistication of a diary from the last century” as Carmen Popesco-Negresco, critic and art historian, explains.
The Capital City Hall organizes the exhibition, signed by Anca Seel-Constantin through ARCUB – Cultural Center of the Municipality of Bucharest, which can be visited between September 15 and October 16, 2022, at ARCUB Hanul Gabroveni.
The ”Geography of Words” can be visited every week except Monday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm at Hanul Graboveni from September 15 until October 16. Everyone interested in seeing the exhibition can visit it for free.
About the international artist, Anca Seel Constantin
Anca Seel-Constantin is the first female artist from Switzerland to be invited by the Henry and Mary Clews Foundation to the Chateau de la Napoule in Cannes.
Born in Bucharest, she studied painting at the Institute of Fine Arts “N. Grigorescu,” settling, after the fall of communism, in Neuchâtel. Since 1992, Anca Seel has managed to gain the public’s attention, exhibiting in galleries in major cities of the world (New York, Paris, Rome, London, Brussels, Tokyo, and Seoul). She mainly practices painting, photo collage and compositions in mixed techniques. Passionate about philosophy and literature, she explores all the artistic possibilities of converting ideas into attractive visual supports or fortifying the written text with images designed to favourably resize the aesthetics of the details and the expressiveness of the whole. She has participated in numerous “book-object” exhibitions in recent years. In the same spirit, she illustrates books by authors for whom he discovered natural affinities: Kafka, Eugen Ionescu, Constantin Kavafis, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Agota Kristof.
