The Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon return this season to their original dates after being rescheduled last year for the fall due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The OMV Petrom Bucharest HALF MARATHON will be held on May 7-8, 2022, while the Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest MARATHON will be held on October 8-9, 2022, according to the Bucharest RUNNING CLUB.
The Bucharest MARATHON is Romania’s largest public sporting event, with over 30 charitable causes supported. As a result, the event’s notoriety is being leveraged to have a positive social and economic influence on the town. Similar to this, Bucharest HALF MARATHON came as a natural brother of the Marathon event, having a related social and economic impact on the community.
After the pandemic period, the events finally return to their original dates for the summer/autumn of 2022 in the Romanian capital.

This year’s Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon will feature a children’s race. The races are held for free, with no recorded timings or rankings, so that youngsters can acquire qualities such as fairness, initiative, and self-confidence through sports.
Bucharest RUNNING CLUB will provide free registration to any Ukrainian runners, regardless of the race they pick.

In terms of social involvement, BRC’s cooperation with GivenGain.com, which began this year, supports runners and the causes that benefit from regular international exposure. As a result, the Bucharest Half Marathon and Marathon join the prominent events that already use this technology, including the Boston, New York, Chicago, London, Paris, and Athens Marathons.

- In terms of the stages of event preparation, each evaluated attribute (registration procedure, online and offline promotion, picking up the competition kit, event website, social media sites, T-shirt) has a high degree of satisfaction.
- During the competition, the competitors value the volunteers’ assistance, first-aid services, and the route the most;
- After the competition, the competitors value the precision of the timing process, the medal, and the arrangement of the Arrival area the most.
This event comes as a breath of fresh air for marathon enthusiasts, especially after a rather difficult period worldwide. Such initiatives are most welcome in the Romanian capital, and their application thus encourages outdoor sports. Therefore, even if you have never participated, it is worth trying these two marathons for fun.
