Goethe-Institut Presents ”Looking for the unknown homeland”

Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 20:00, at 2/3 Gallery, Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with FILMKULTUR, presents the film screening „Looking for the unknown homeland” in the exhibition Noi2-Wir 2 - Romanian-German Portraits.

What do you do when you don’t feel at home in your home country? This question concerned Holger, a native of Bavaria. Holger Gutt moved with his father, Andreas, to Transylvania in search of a home. They realized that „home is not a place, but is inside the human being.” In search of answers, he travels to the land of his ancestors with his father. A trip through Romania transforms their lives.

Holger Gutt, the film’s director, is also portrayed with his father in the exhibition Wir2-Noi2 – Romanian-German Portraits, which can be visited until July 21 at 2/3 Galery from French Street no.4. The film will be screened in German with Romanian subtitles, and admission is free within the available seats.

Exhibition NOI 2 | WIR 2-Romanian-German Portraits uses journalistic narrative texts and artistic photos to portray 30 life-giving couples from Germany and Romania in this bilateral friendship. A person from Romania and one from Germany form a duo, a pair: versatile, even unusual, in their professional life, leisure or private life.
