More than 300 designers from over 50 countries come to Bucharest for Romanian Jewelry Week 2026, bringing contemporary jewellery, international exhibitions and a weekend fair to the National Library of Romania. The seventh edition runs from September 30 to October 4, with opportunities to discover experimental designs, meet their creators and buy pieces directly from the designers.
Organised by Assamblage National Jewelry Association, the event explores jewellery as art, craftsmanship and personal expression. For visitors interested in design, it offers a chance to encounter a wide range of creative approaches in one place, from traditional techniques reinterpreted to conceptual pieces that challenge familiar ideas about what jewellery can be.
Meet the Designers at the Weekend Jewellery Fair
The Romanian Jewelry Week fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 3–4, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Visitors can browse collections, speak directly with the jewellery designers and purchase their work. Meeting the makers adds another dimension to choosing a piece: the chance to hear about its materials, techniques, and the ideas behind it.
The wider event opens on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:00 PM, with an official opening and a preview of the fair. Visitors who want to explore the exhibitions before the weekend can enjoy free admission from September 30 to October 2.
International Exhibitions and New Creative Directions
This edition includes 17 international collective exhibitions, with participants such as Legnica Silver Festival, Precious Collective, Saudi Metalsmith, International Amber Association and Slovenian Jewelry Week.
Among the special projects, Growing Gems focuses on stone-cutting as an artistic practice. CLOVA’s Gathering explores the relationship between contemporary jewellery and miniature art, while Dessinez-moi un bijou presents jewellery created by visual artists. Elsewhere in Bucharest, AlbAlb hosts a focus on Kalita Jewelry throughout the festival dates.
Together, the exhibitions offer reasons to visit beyond shopping, raising questions about scale, materials, and how an object worn on the body can carry an idea.
