The legendary German rock band Scorpions returns to Bucharest for a spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime concert on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Romexpo, as part of their worldwide “Coming Home” anniversary tour, celebrating an incredible 60 years of music history.
This show follows sold-out performances across Europe and a special 60th Anniversary Residency in Las Vegas. Organized by Marcel Avram (East European Production) and DD East Entertainment, the Bucharest concert promises high energy, timeless hits, and powerful emotions from one of the most iconic rock bands of all time.
Scorpions: A Legacy That Shaped Rock Music
Formed in Hanover, Germany in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker, Scorpions have become one of the most influential and long-standing hard rock and heavy metal bands in the world. With over 100 million albums sold, the band has inspired generations of fans and artists alike.
When Klaus Meine joined as lead vocalist and Michael Schenker (Rudolf’s younger brother) took over lead guitar duties in the early ’70s, the group began to define its signature sound. Albums like Lonesome Crow (1972), Fly to the Rainbow (1974), and In Trance (1975) laid the groundwork for what would become a global phenomenon.
Scorpions are known for their unique mix of high-voltage rock anthems and emotive ballads. Their classic lineup – including Matthias Jabs, Francis Buchholz, and Herman Rarebell – helped the band conquer the charts in the 1980s and beyond.
Iconic Hits That Defined Generations
Scorpions’ global success reached its peak with albums like Blackout (1982) and Love at First Sting (1984), which featured massive international hits like:
- “Rock You Like a Hurricane”
- “Still Loving You”
- “Big City Nights”
- “No One Like You”
- “Send Me an Angel”
- and the historic anthem “Wind of Change”, inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall.
They also became cultural symbols, playing landmark concerts like the Moscow Music Peace Festival in 1989, breaking boundaries during a time of massive political change.
Even after announcing a farewell tour in 2010, Scorpions never truly said goodbye. Instead, they kept evolving and recording new music, including Return to Forever (2015) and Rock Believer (2022), proving they are far from done.
