    Taramul de Gheata

The Land of Ice – Taramul de Gheata Christmas Market in Lumea Copiilor Park 2025

The Land of Ice – Tărâmul de Gheață is the new Christmas market in Lumea Copiilor Park, near Oraselul Copiilor Park, Bucharest. It’s built as an urban winter story with a hot-air balloon, zipline, open-air ice rink, a “Caravan of Magical Animals”, concerts and lots of activities for children and families.

For 2025, it runs for one whole month. It is positioned as a fully private event, created in partnership with Sector 4 City Hall but without public funding, making it a different kind of Christmas market from the big City Hall fairs.

Taramul de gheata – Parcul Lumea Copiilor 2025

For winter 2025–2026, the official information is:

    • Location: Parcul Lumea Copiilor, Sector 4, Bucharest
    • Season: 27 November – 27 December 2025
    • Opening hours:
      • Monday–Thursday: 14:00 – 22:00
      • Friday–Sunday: 10:00 – 22:00
    • Entry: free access; you only pay for attractions, food and whatever you buy

The market opens on 27 November with the official lights and Christmas tree ceremony and stays open until 27 December.

Tărâmul de Gheață turns Parcul Lumea Copiilor into a winter park with several themed zones. The concept is inspired by modern Christmas events combined with an urban design approach: each area has its own visual identity, lighting and activities.

The organisers describe it as “a winter story where joy, light and emotion reconnect the city with the authentic Christmas spirit”, using experiences rather than just décor.

Main attractions at Tărâmul de Gheață Christmas Market

The Christmas market comes with several headline attractions that you don’t usually see all together in one place:

    Hot-air balloon

The hot-air balloon is presented as the main attraction of Tărâmul de Gheață. It offers a belvedere point over the park and Christmas market, giving visitors an elevated view of the lights and activities.

    Ice rink

The open-air ice rink (“patinoarul magic”) is open throughout the market for visitors of all ages. You can rent skates on site, including beginner options, and skate to Christmas music throughout the day and evening.

    Zipline

A zipline (tiroliană) is installed as the centrepiece of the adventure area. It is specifically designed and adapted for children, with full safety measures, so kids can experience the feeling of “flying like Santa in the sleigh”.

    Caravan of Magical Animals

At the Caravana animalelor magice, children can meet winter-themed animals such as reindeer, huskies and other friendly creatures, presented as Santa’s helpers. It’s one of the most photographed corners of the event.

    Carousel and other rides

Alongside the headline attractions, Tărâmul de Gheață also features a Christmas carousel and additional miniature rides for children, creating an entire amusement area within the park.

    Concerts and entertainment programme

Tărâmul de Gheață is not just décor and rides; it has a full entertainment calendar:

    • Daily artistic moments, street animation and interactive activities
    • Shows for children and themed performances
    • Weekend live concerts with well-known Romanian artists and bands

Some of the confirmed concerts for the 2025 edition include:

    • Direcția 5 on 28 November 2025
    • Fuego & Orchestra on 1 December 2025 (Romania’s National Day)
    • Sofia Vicoveanca, also on 1 December 2025

The whole artistic programme is announced progressively on the official website and social media channels of Tărâmul de Gheață.

Beyond entertainment, the event has a social responsibility component called “Dezgheață un zâmbet”.

At this stand, visitors can support humanitarian causes and local projects. Influencers, artists, and partners are present for interviews, content creation, and fundraising activities during the fair.

    Food, sweets and winter drinks

Tărâmul de Gheață includes an area of commercial stands and food points with:

    • Winter comfort food and traditional seasonal dishes
    • Sweets such as doughnuts, gingerbread and other desserts
    • Classic Christmas drinks – mulled wine, hot chocolate and more

It’s not a purely food-focused Christmas market, but there is enough variety to stay for a whole evening.

    Family-friendly Christmas market

Tărâmul de Gheață is designed especially with families and children in mind:

    • Safe rides and attractions
    • A structured programme of children’s shows and workshops
    • Lots of space in the park to walk around and explore
    • Activities across the entire afternoon and evening schedule

If you are travelling with kids and staying in the southern or central part of Bucharest, this is one of the most interesting Christmas experiences to try in 2025.

How to get to Tărâmul de Gheață – Lumea Copiilor Park

Parcul Lumea Copiilor is located in Sector 4, near Palatul Național al Copiilor, between Bulevardul Tineretului and Calea Văcărești.

    By metro

According to the organisers and public transport apps, the nearest metro stations are:

    • Tineretului
    • Mihai Bravu
    • Constantin Brâncoveanu

From each of these, it’s a short walk through or around Tineretului and Lumea Copiilor parks.

    By bus and tram

Several bus lines stop near Parcul Lumea Copiilor, including routes 312 and 381, as well as others along Șoseaua Mihai Bravu and Calea Văcărești.

There is also a nearby tram stop (Pasaj or Pod Mihai Bravu), from where you can walk to the park.

    By car

The organisers highlight that the park is easily accessible by car from all parts of the city and provide dedicated guidance on their channels. However, during peak evening traffic around Calea Văcărești and Bulevardul Tineretului can be heavy, so public transport is often the more practical option.

Tips for visiting Tărâmul de Gheață

    • Use the whole time window. Weekday evenings (Mon–Thu) are likely to be calmer; weekends will be the most crowded.
    • Prioritise the balloon and zipline. These are the standout attractions and can generate queues at peak times.
    • Go on concert days if you want more atmosphere – Direcția 5, Fuego, Sofia Vicoveanca and other artists are scheduled across the month.
    • Dress for an open park. Parcul Lumea Copiilor is mostly open space; it can feel colder than in dense urban squares.

For 2025, Tărâmul de Gheață is one of the key new Christmas markets in Bucharest: a full winter park in Parcul Lumea Copiilor, with a strong focus on attractions, concerts and family experiences in Sector 4.
