Asia Fest, an event celebrating Eastern customs and culture, is returning to Bucharest in a new form. During the festival, you will have the opportunity to explore the hues of Asia, the delectable flavours of the cuisine, the perfume of spices, fashion models, and traditional songs in the Bucharest National Park between September 23 and 25.
There will be performances of both traditional and modern music and dances, tea ceremonies, cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, concerts by Romanian and international artists, bits of shows, but also the prominent display of traditional Asian costumes and the eagerly awaited Cosplay competition throughout the event for fans of Asian culture to experience the vast and distant continent.
The concert by Fetiblue, one of Turkey’s most accomplished blues and rock musicians and the creator of the album Kuş Ekmei, which brings together well-known Turkish singers from the jazz and blues genres, is among the highlights that attendees can enjoy this year at Asia Fest. Another highlight is the performance by the talented artist Shrithale, who will be showcasing to the public the breathtaking traditional dances of Sri Lanka and an excerpt from the Silk Road show, a display of movement beauty.
This year’s Asia Fest returns with a sizable food area where guests can taste cuisine from India, Turkey, South Korea, China, and Japan. They can sample traditional dishes and unique gastronomic experiments in an explosion of flavours and aromas and learn about Asian cuisine beyond sushi, spring rolls, and shanghai chicken. For example, they can try traditional cig kofte, Turkish baklava and kataifi, and traditional Syrian and Lebanese sweet.
Asia Fest is an intercultural discourse that honours Asian culture by bringing both the traditional and the modern to Bucharest, frequently for the first time, from mystifying and inspiring regions. Prepare for three days of performances with distinctive music and dances, traditional Asian fare, workshops, displays, and lots of surprises for the whole family!
