    Bucharest’s beloved open-air cinema, Grădina cu Filme – Cinema & More, is back for its 12th edition, inviting locals and visitors alike to enjoy a vibrant cultural summer in the city’s heart.

    From May 28 to September 28, 2025, the enchanting garden at Piața Alexandru Lahovari no. 7 will once again become a hub for film lovers, music enthusiasts, and anyone looking to experience Bucharest’s creative spirit under the stars.

    Open Air Movies & More

    This year’s program is more exciting than ever, blending Romanian and international cinema, live music, and interactive cultural events. The season opens with the DokStation Music Documentary Film Festival, the only festival in Romania dedicated to music documentaries, from May 28 to June 1.

    Audiences can enjoy acclaimed films such as “Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus,” “Born to Be Wild: The Story of Steppenwolf,” “Becoming Madonna,” “LIZA: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story,” and “Ace of Base: All That She Wants” each evening from 9:00 PM.

    Romanian Film Evenings: Meet the Creators

    On June 5, Grădina cu Filme launches its Romanian Film Evenings with the screening of “The New Year That Never Came – Anul nou care n-a fost,” a multi-award-winning tragicomedy by Bogdan Mureșanu, filmed primarily in Bucharest and its surroundings.

    After the screening, the film’s team will join the audience for an engaging Q&A session. Curated by film critic Ileana Bîrsan, the Romanian Film Evenings continue throughout the summer, offering cinephiles the chance to explore the best local cinema and interact with directors, actors, and producers in a relaxed, garden setting.

    International Film Nights: Blockbusters and Art Films

    June brings a selection of international hits and festival favourites to the big screen at Grădina cu Filme. Highlights include “Poor Things” (June 6), “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” (June 7), “Dumb Money” (June 8), “Ordinary Angels” (June 13), “Wicked Little Letters” (June 14), “Young Woman and the Sea” (June 15), “Mulan” (June 19), “The Outrun” (June 20), “Saturday Night” (June 21), “The Art of Racing in the Rain” (June 27), and “Twisters” (June 28).

    Live Music: Horia Mihail’s “Travelling Piano”

    Music lovers will be delighted by the first concert of the season, “Pianul Călător” (“The Travelling Piano”), featuring renowned pianist Horia Mihail on June 29, starting at 8:00 PM. The program will showcase the most beautiful encore pieces from Mihail’s tours since 2011, promising an evening of passion and virtuosity in a magical outdoor setting.

    Tickets are available on Eventbook.ro and at the CREART Ticket Agency (Piața Alexandru Lahovari no. 7). The ticket office is open Thursday through Friday from 3:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday through Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
