During Easter, Bucharest celebrates authentic traditions and craftsmanship. This year’s Easter Fair is called „Traditions and Flowers of the Holidays.” It begins on April 12th in Herastrau Park.
Bucharest is organizing the 12th edition of the official Easter Fair of the Capital, Traditions and Flowers of the Holidays, from April 12th to April 21st, 2025, in King Michael I Park (Herăstrău) – Charles de Gaulle entrance. Locals and tourists are invited to discover authentic traditions and enjoy a festive atmosphere with their loved ones, daily from 10 AM to 9 PM, with free entry.
Being a tradition of the Capital, this cultural event is dedicated to the Palm Sunday and Easter holidays, designed for the whole family, and highlights folk art and local traditions. It brings together craftsmen from all ethnographic regions of Romania, urban creators, local producers, and various artistic and recreational activities, such as theater performances, creative and recycling workshops, street performers, instrumental recitals, and ambient music.
Crafts Fair, Creation and Traditional Culinary Products
The traditional Easter Fair in Herastrau Park will again provide an excellent opportunity to discover local handmade objects crafted with care, urban creators’ handmade products, local producers’ specialties, and crafts passed down through generations.
Every day, from 10 AM to 9 PM, visitors to the event’more than 70 exhibition spaces will be greeted by a variety of creations (decorated eggs, traditional blouses – ii and popular costumes, painted icons, leather goods, ceramics, glass and wood objects, corn husk ornaments, candles, lavender, flowers, cosmetics, accessories and jewelry, toys, home decorations for Easter) and an array of Easter culinary delights (sweet bread, Easter cake, homemade pastries, doughnuts, ice cream, gingerbread, honey, jams, natural juices, chocolate).
Crafts Demonstrations

For 10 days, traditional artisans will reveal the secrets of their techniques, giving the public the chance to witness demonstrations of Easter egg decorating, crafting objects and decorations from corn husks, and working with glass, wood and leather to create items that combine functionality with aesthetics, offering a window into the cultural heritage of various regions.
The crafts demonstrations provide visitors with a unique opportunity to explore Romanian traditional art and ancestral techniques skillfully used by the artisans participating in the event Traditions and Flowers of the Holidays. Attendees will be able to observe and interact with the artisans, creating an authentic connection between the public and the traditional Romanian world while offering an educational and captivating experience. Thus, the demonstrations become more than mere presentations – they serve as an invitation to rediscover the beauty of crafts that define the cultural identity of the Romanian people and as a celebration of art.
Artistic and Recreational Activities

Traditions and Flowers of the Holidays is where children can enjoy art, creativity, and entertainment. The little visitors and their parents and grandparents are invited to attend theater performances every weekend (April 12th – 13th, April 19th – 20th) and on Monday, April 21st, from 12 PM to 1 PM. Creative and recycling workshops, where participants will combine playfulness with creativity, will take place on the weekend of April 12th – 13th and between April 17th and 21st, from 5 PM to 6 PM and from 6 PM to 7 PM, featuring Easter-themed activities.
Stilt-walking performers, who will roam the park alleys on the two weekends and April 21st, will enhance the festive atmosphere and spread good vibes. Additionally, the carousel will delight the little ones, serving as an attraction and a place where beautiful memories come to life.
Every weekend (April 12th–13th, April 19th–20th) and Monday, April 21st (from 5 PM to 6 PM and from 6 PM to 7 PM), as well as on April 17th–18th (from 6 PM to 7 PM), the wooden gazebo will host evenings dedicated to instrumental recitals. These performances will add a harmonious touch to the park promenade, with each musical style offering a unique auditory experience, taking spectators on a journey through jazz and blues, classical music, film scores, and authentic folklore.
From April 12th to April 21st, 2025, Bucharest Easter Fair becomes a gathering space for generations, where folk culture is celebrated and adapted in a contemporary way, while still preserving its authenticity, and a complete experience that blends tradition with the significance of the holiday.
