The Bucharest Feminist Film Festival returns this autumn with its fourth edition, offering a powerful and thought-provoking exploration of the body in all its forms.
From October 17-20, 2024, the festival will take place at the Cinema Muzeul Țăranului Român, providing a safe and inclusive space for film enthusiasts, activists, and those passionate about gender equality to come together.
Founded in 2021 by a group of four visionary women, the Bucharest Feminist Film Festival aims to foster a community where open dialogue on feminist issues is encouraged. The festival brings together people from all walks of life: activists, politicians, journalists, students, and academics.
This year’s theme, BODY, will challenge societal norms around gender, explore personal narratives of resistance, and highlight activism through art and cinema.
Over four days, the festival will feature various films, performances, and discussions, each providing a unique perspective on gender stereotypes, sexual violence, body autonomy, and more. International and local filmmakers will showcase their work, sparking conversations on how patriarchal systems affect us all and how we can push back through art and activism.
