Through the support of the Culture, Education, and Tourism Directories of the Municipality of Bucharest, the City Hall of the Capital launched through ARCUB, on 18 May 2022, the financing program for the creative sector in Bucharest. The program is entitled ”Affectionate Bucharest”, and the concept behind lies in the provision of funds for initiatives that use a variety of artistic mediums to envision the city of Bucharest as a warmer and more welcoming place to people, both locals and tourists.
The program covers all artistic and cultural domains – Visual Arts (including painting, sculpture, decorative arts, collage and textile arts, design and graphics, photography, street art and installations and many more); Performing Arts (music, dance, theatre); Multimedia art and technology (Digital Art, New Media); Community Art and Cultural Education; and Tangible and Intangible Heritage Interdisciplinary (urbanism, architecture).
Affectionate Bucharest offered an opportunity for cultural operators from Bucharest to propose initiatives, projects, and cultural activities to boost the creative sector of the capital, and inspire the youth with the value of participating and appreciating these activities. The sole scope of the program is to encourage and push residents to rediscover and reconnect to the city they live in through the use of art, entertainment, and artistic innovation.
