A new event called ‘Bookuresti Tram’ will delight the people of Bucharest this summer. ‘Bookuresti Tram’ proposes Bucharest residents five urban-poetic journeys by vintage tram (on line 1) every day of Saturday, between July 23 and August 20, 2022
In a special weekend regime, the vintage tram based on the public transport service from Bucharest is reactivated on the line 1. For five weeks, the tram runs every day from Saturday, July 23 – August 20, 2022. The participants benefit from a return on the route Depoul Dudeşti – Bd. Banu Manta – Depoul Dudeşti, without stops at the stations. For about two hours, from 19:00 to 21:00, the trip includes stories and histories from the route supported by Anita Stere / Ioana Popa – historical guides, reading and conversations with poets about poetry, their relationship with Bucharest moderated by Raisa Beicu, Anca Vancu or Elena Vlădăreanu and musical moments from the jazz, classical and interwar area.
‘Bookureşti Tram’ is a continuation of the project ‘The Poetry Tram’ from 2019, winner of the AFCN Gala for Innovation. The second edition, presented in a completely new way, aims to artistically experiment with means of transportation and encourage the general public to emotionally reconnect with the city where they live, through an atypical urban poetic experience.
Tickets for the ‘Bookuresti Tram’ trip are available online on arcub.ro, bilet.ro and at ARCUB ticket office from Lipscani street 84-90. Price: EUR 5 (25 lei-seat), respectively EUR 3 (15 lei-standing position).
