Kimaro Festival returns to Bucharest between June 12 and 14, bringing three days of live Romanian music to Piața Constituției, one of the city’s most recognisable open-air event venues.
Set in front of the Palace of Parliament, the festival turns one of Bucharest’s largest central squares into a weekend stage for Romanian music, radio culture and summer concerts in the heart of the capital.
For visitors, Kimaro is a direct way to experience a more local side of Bucharest. The event is built around Romanian artists, Romanian audiences and the kind of open-air concert atmosphere that gives the city its summer rhythm.
Kimaro Festival: Program and announced bands

Kimaro is not an international festival artificially placed in the city. Its appeal comes from its local character: Romanian artists, Romanian radio culture and a public that knows the songs, the voices and the atmosphere.
For foreign visitors, this makes the festival relevant even without prior knowledge of the music. It offers a live snapshot of what many Romanians listen to and sing along to, in a large public setting rather than in a closed concert hall.
The mix of artists gives the event a broad and accessible character. Kimaro is not designed for one narrow audience, but for people who want a relaxed summer festival atmosphere, familiar local names, live music and an evening in central Bucharest.
Free Access Makes Kimaro Easy to Add to a Bucharest Weekend
Access to the Kimaro Festival is free, with general access passes available for visitors. VIP passes are also available for those who want a dedicated area and additional facilities.
As with any large free-entry event in central Bucharest, arriving earlier is recommended, especially for visitors who want a better position near the stage or a more comfortable experience inside the festival area.
For the FREE Entry, you must first register on Kimaro’s website and present the generated QR Code at the entrance. Security will also make sure you do not enter with umbrellas in the festival areas, so if it’s raining, it’s best to wear appropriate rain gear.
How to Get to Kimaro Festival in Piața Constituției

Piața Constituției is located in central Bucharest, in front of the Palace of Parliament. The area can be reached from Unirii Square, Izvor, the Old Town and several central public transport routes.
Visitors staying in the city centre can usually reach the festival area by walking, by metro to Piața Unirii or Izvor, or by using public transport and ride-hailing services. During large events, traffic restrictions may be in place around the square, so public transport is often the better option.
