Get ready for the adrenaline-fueled excitement of SkyRun 2024, the premier tower-running event hosted at SkyTower Bucharest, the tallest building in Romania.
This year’s edition, part of the „SKY’S THE LIMIT” annual competition series, is set for November 9, 2024, and promises even more challenges, surprises, and inclusivity, introducing two new age categories for children.
For the first time, SkyRun will feature a FunSkyRun category specifically designed for children aged 7 to 13. This non-competitive race allows young participants to be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or guardian, making it a family-friendly event. Meanwhile, teenagers aged 14 to 17 can compete individually in a more competitive race, divided into male and female sub-categories.
SkyRun 2024 is shaping up to be a special edition. Building on the success of last year’s race, which saw 600 participants from four countries (Romania, Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria), this year’s event will accommodate 700 runners. Competitors will face the thrilling challenge of ascending 31 floors, 620 steps, and a vertical rise of 108 meters to the top of the iconic SkyTower.
One of the highlights of the SkyRun event is its charitable component. The registration fees will be donated to four important causes, and participants can choose which charity their contribution will support during sign-up. The charities benefiting from the event include:
- Climb Again, a non-profit organization that offers climbing and therapy sessions for children and young people with disabilities.
- Mia’s Children, an association that provides daily tutoring, care, and counseling for disadvantaged children and youth at risk of neglect or abuse.
- SOS Children’s Villages Romania, which has been providing family-based care for children without parental support for over 30 years.
- Autism Voice, an association dedicated to the recovery of children with autism, pioneering ABA therapy in Romania.
With SkyRun 2024, SkyTower Bucharest aims to host a thrilling athletic event and support meaningful causes that make a difference in the lives of vulnerable communities.
Ramona Boca, PR & Marketing Manager for RPHI Romania, the company that owns and manages SkyTower, expressed her excitement:
“We’re thrilled to announce the new edition of SkyRun 2024 with even more participants and new categories for children. The inclusion of young runners and the expansion of our charity partners were made possible thanks to feedback from last year’s participants. We’re also increasing the number of competitors to 700 and look forward to awarding attractive prizes to the top finishers in each category.”Admission fee at SkyRun 2024
