Grigore Antipa Museum is one of the most long-standing institutions for biodiversity research and public education in Romania.  Established in 1834, at the request of the Great Ban Mihalache Ghica, the brother of the ruler Alexandru Ghica, the museum was initially composed of the donation of the initiator, including birds, mammals, mollusks, fish, fossils of various types, different minerals and coins belonging to the Greek people.

The Aviation Museum

Founded in 1990, the Aviation Museum was open for the public in 1993, when enough artifacts were gathered. You will find here documents and objects which bused to belong to the first flight school in Romania objects belonging to Aurel Vlaicu, the pioneer of Romanian aviation, objects belonging to Smaranda Bratescu, world champion in parachuting, Henri Coanda’s personal archive, and many more interesting artifacts.

The Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy

Founded in 1908 in the area of Filaret Hill, the Bucharest Observatory has a park of scientific buildings, instruments, and equipment operated in the same area and in other locations. The main building of the Observatory has an Equatorial Dome, a scientific and administrative section, a Meridian Hall, and a Planetarium Hall, the last two being under development as educational facilities.
