“100 Romanian Traditions” Fair Bucharest: National Museum of Romanian Peasant, June 12-14

The “100 Romanian Traditions” Fair returns to Bucharest from June 12-14, 2026, held in the courtyard of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant at 3 Monetăriei Street. Visitors can enjoy free entrance to this vibrant celebration of Romanian folk art, crafts, gastronomy, and culture.

    Wood craft

Held shortly before the Universal Day of the Romanian Blouse, celebrated on June 24, this edition brings together some of the most beautiful traditional Romanian blouses from across the country. The fair also features folk costumes, icons, masks, painted ceramics, Oltenian carpets, towels, traditional footwear, wooden household objects, felted wool toys, handmade jewellery, pressed-flower artworks, wood sculptures, and other authentic or handmade objects.

Among the artisans present at this edition is Nelea Ceban from the Republic of Moldova, who will bring her traditional dolls and offer live demonstrations of her craft. Visitors will also meet Marin Predușel, one of the few craftsmen who still make traditional musical instruments, including the flute, ocarina and bagpipe.

The gastronomic area will include naturally smoked meat products, fresh and matured cheeses, gingerbread, homemade pies and cakes, honey, pollen, zacusca, fir and lavender syrups, fresh fruit and vegetables, plum brandy and quince palinca.

As at any traditional Romanian fair, freshly cooked food will also be part of the experience. Visitors can try sturgeon stock, shepherd-style lamb cooked in a cauldron, fried crucian carp, grilled butcher’s sausages, polenta baked on a hot plate and bean stew.

The fair is open from June 12 to 14, 2026, at the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant. Entrance is free.

The fair is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00, FREE ENTRY.
