Mark your calendars for November 3, 2024, as the most significant forest running event, Baneasa Forest Run, returns!
Baneasa Forest Run is a premier 100% trail running event that gathers over 2,000 participants annually, offering a unique experience for beginners and seasoned runners. The event is known for its two annual editions—spring and autumn—each highlighting a charitable cause and offering runners a chance to contribute.
The event isn’t just about running, it’s about community. Participants can join group training sessions during each race, including a post-race recovery run. Every edition features a social cause, and participants are encouraged to make donations to the selected organization.
Baneasa Forest Run History
The first spring edition took place on April 29, 2018, with over 700 runners competing in two race categories: a cross-country race (11 km) and a half-marathon (21 km). The event brought together people from all backgrounds to celebrate the joy of running in nature. Later that year, the autumn edition on November 4, 2018, drew over 1,000 runners, making it the most popular trail race in Baneasa Forest then.
The autumn edition is special, offering runners the chance to experience the beauty of fall—running through golden leaves, hearing the rustle of foliage, and enjoying the crisp, fresh air. It’s not just a run, it’s a sensory journey through the forest.

Baneasa Forest Run Pre-Event Training
The Forest Run team allows participants to train together before race day. These training sessions take place on the same 11K cross-country route and a shorter 6.5 km course. These sessions are perfect for familiarizing yourself with the trail and building up stamina. The trainings are led by group coordinators, with different pace groups to suit all levels. The team also provides warm-ups, hydration, and photos.
