Each winter, Bucharest hides some of its best Christmas magic not in its attractive Christmas Markets, but on the facades of its restaurants, cafés and hotels. Elegant townhouses turn into storybook scenes with garlands, giant gift boxes and life-sized nutcrackers guarding the doors. Entrances are wrapped in lights and evergreen arches, windows glow with warm decorations, and whole corners of the city become ready-made photo spots.
In this guide, we take you to the most beautifully decorated buildings in Bucharest, where you can admire the festive decor, take your Christmas photos and then step inside for a cosy drink or dinner.
Christmas Decorations at Roshen Candy & Chocolate Shop in Unirii Square
Roshen Candy Shop is considered to be one of the most beautifully adorned buildings this year. Located on Unirii Boulevard, right near Unirii Square, Roshen can be a stop on your stroll to the Bucharest Christmas Market in Constitution Square.
Roshen is not only about the outside decorations; when you step inside, you enter a fairy atmosphere that leads you to the magic Christmas you dreamt about since childhood.

Christmas Decorations at Maison Dadoo
Maison Dadoo is one of the brands that take Christmas as it is: an opportunity to bring some joy to the faces of the residents and tourists who pass by. This year, Dadoo chose a beautiful theme to let you enter the festive joy, and all we can do is to show you these beautiful pictures – the rest is up to you.

Just across the street from Maison Dadoo, you’ll also find a charming surprise: the Azay Design building, dressed up for the season. A Christmas tree with gold and red baubles stands by the entrance, the facade is wrapped in fairy lights, and whimsical winged horses complete the festive scene. If you’re already in the area for photos, it’s worth crossing the street and taking a moment to admire this corner as well.

JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel
What we loved about this Christmas decoration, shown below, is its simplicity and elegance. Without any further proof, we show you what awaits you if you happen to pass by this entrance. Also, we must admit this is one of the most elegant decorative bows in the city.

Iris Flower Shop – Floraria Iris
Iris is the synonym for festive decorations during Christmas time in Bucharest. This year, their facade is adorned with exquisitely decorated Christmas trees.
Still, Iris left their mark all over the city, as other facades are crafted by the same dedicated people who delight us season after season with their good taste and a keen eye for beauty.
Thus, you will see some decorations – such as the facade on Buongiorno Italian or the one on Mayfair on Victoriei Boulevard, adorned by Iris.

Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest
Corinthia, one of the 5-star hotels in Bucharest, didn’t disappoint this season and introduced a different style for its Christmas Decorations. While others preferred the simplicity of their last Christmas’ approach, some prefer this style, which made us envision the English royal guards on duty.
Pay attention to oncoming traffic while taking pictures of this beautifully adorned facade, and don’t linger too long at the pedestrian crossing!

Buongiorno Italian
This is one of the recommended restaurants in Bucharest and has also become a landmark for those who love Christmas decorations. Their facade, adorned in collaboration with Iris as we mentioned above, is one of the most beautiful in the city.
We have to say that this decoration brought us 200k in views when we posted it on social media, so this speaks for itself.

Marmorosch
Marmorosch, the 5-star hotel near the Old Town, has chosen a spectacular approach for this Christmas. Not only did they make you dream about a white Christmas, but when you step inside, you’ll find some of the most elegant decorations in the city’s hotels.
Mayfair 39
Mayfair 39 is another location whose Christmas decorations are crafted by Iris. You can’t miss the location while taking a stroll on Victoriei Avenue.

Bocca Lupo
Bocca Lupo is among the first restaurants in the city to start this trend of decorative facades. While some blamed them for starting too early this year, while others say their style is somehow visually crowded, we just recommend this location and invite you to discover it yourself.

Derby
Derby, the famous restaurant in the Cotroceni neighbourhood, is one of the recommended destinations this year for all those who want to enjoy some of the most beautiful festive decorations. Also, if you arrive here, we recommend their meals; we always leave this location appreciating their food, especially during Christmas time.
Even though this guide focuses on the most beautifully decorated facades, they are only part of Bucharest’s Christmas scenery. Each sector of the city lights up its main boulevards with festive installations, so on your way from one restaurant, café or hotel to another you’ll pass under sparkling arches, illuminated trees and long lines of lights stretching along the streets.

Put together, the decorated buildings and the lights on the central boulevards turn Bucharest into a city-wide Christmas walk. You can plan an entire evening just strolling from one stop on this list to the next, taking photos outside, warming up inside with a drink, and enjoying the festive glow in every sector. If you visit Bucharest in December, make at least one night all about the decorations. It’s one of the easiest ways to feel the city’s Christmas spirit. 🙂
