The event offers Bucharest residents and visitors a series of artistic and educational events organized on the pedestrian routes in collaboration with theaters, cultural institutions, independent operators and Bucharest artists.
To reach as many visitors of Bucharest as possible, but also to allow the organization of other events for the community in the public space, „Open Streets” will take place alternately in several points in Bucharest and on certain weekends in the capital’s summer season.
The event, which last year was visited by more than a quarter of the Capital’s population, „Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade,” has the following schedule:
First weekend April 29-30, 2023

Calea Victoriei opens for pedestrians between Piaţa Victoriei and Independence Square, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and becomes the scene of street performances prepared by theaters and cultural institutions of the city.
The artistic program of the first „Open Streets” weekend includes circus acts for children, exhibitions of the Bucharest City Museum at Casa Filipescu Cesianu and evening events, including circus performances and the parade of characters of the Metropolitan Circus Bucharest, theatrical premieres from the Mask Theater season and meetings with animating artists on foot prepared for the „Open Streets” creative program – the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of the City of Bucharest.
