WEEKEND APRIL 29 – APRIL 30
Now in its third edition, the Capital’s most popular outdoor event, „Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade„, which will take place between April 29 and October 8, 2023, returns to the public’s attention with a new season debuting on the weekend of April 29-30, 2023 on Calea Victoriei.
The event offers Bucharest residents and visitors a series of artistic and educational events organized on the pedestrian routes in collaboration with theaters, cultural institutions, independent operators and Bucharest artists.
To reach as many visitors of Bucharest as possible, but also to allow the organization of other events for the community in the public space, „Open Streets” will take place alternately in several points in Bucharest and on certain weekends in the capital’s summer season.
The event, which last year was visited by more than a quarter of the Capital’s population, „Open Streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade,” has the following schedule:
First weekend April 29-30, 2023

Calea Victoriei opens for pedestrians between Piaţa Victoriei and Independence Square, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. and becomes the scene of street performances prepared by theaters and cultural institutions of the city.
The artistic program of the first „Open Streets” weekend includes circus acts for children, exhibitions of the Bucharest City Museum at Casa Filipescu Cesianu and evening events, including circus performances and the parade of characters of the Metropolitan Circus Bucharest, theatrical premieres from the Mask Theater season and meetings with animating artists on foot prepared for the „Open Streets” creative program – the Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of the City of Bucharest.
Road restrictions during Open Streets Bucharest 2023

Victory Road | During the period 29-30 April 2023, for the duration of the established restrictions, the crossing will be allowed on Calea Victoriei, Sevastopol Street, Gheorghe Manu Street, Dacia Boulevard, Ion Câmpineanu Street, Regina Elisabeta boulevard, Ştirbei Vodă street between Calea Victoriei and Dem. I. Dobrescu.

The public transport in Bucharest will be diverted without affecting passengers.
Residents will be allowed access to their homes, as well as to the economic units in the area, according to the signs temporarily installed during the restrictions on the following streets: Frumoasă Street between Sevastopol Street and Calea Victoriei, Gina Patrichi Street between Lascăr Catargiu boulevard and Calea Victoriei, Griviţei street between Constantin Budişteanu and Calea Victoriei, with the mention that the car access of the residents will be redirected to the alley in front of the Ştirbei Palace, then to Banului street.
During the weekends when the „Open Streets” event is held, road traffic on Calea Victoriei resumes during the night until the morning (from Saturday to Sunday), starting from 22:00 until 09:00.
For the first time, for the safety of the participants in the event, the bicycle lanes are also closed on the roads where cars no longer travel.
