Open Streets Bucharest

Open Streets Bucharest is quite similar to what happens in other major cities across the world. Open Streets projects establish pedestrian areas on segments of Calea Victoriei and Kiseleff Road in Bucharest in the last weekend of spring and offer citizens outdoor recreation activities such as theatre moments, classical music concerts, and a series of workshops and sports activities for children.

What are the days of Open Streets in Bucharest? During weekends the streets of Bucharest become pedestrianized, so that citizens can walk outdoors on the famous Calea Victoriei or on Kiseleff Road in the Capital, enjoying recreation.

On 28 and 29 May, the Open Streets-Bucharest Urban Promenade continues with dance, exhibitions, theatre, and participatory installations. The Bucharest non-reimbursable financing session is eagerly awaiting cultural projects that have the potential to transform Bucharest and reimagine the city in a more welcoming manner for its residents. Until June 3, independent cultural operators can apply to be present in the artistic program Open Streets by submitting proposals for cultural and community projects, and on Children’s Day, June 1, we will open the most beautiful exhibition for children and parents: Childhood Games, which will feature over 400 Romanian games from 1950 to 2000.
